Luke 15:11-14
“Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need…”
Beloved,
I heard someone say, so eloquently, “the journey back to God will always be faster because He is your loving Father and He will always meet you – at the very least – half way.” I couldn’t agree more, especially because Jesus tells us this as He shares the story of the prodigal son:
“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him”. (Luke 15:20)
See how great the Fathers’ love and compassion is for His children? Yesterday, we talked about how important it is for you to continue in life. We live in a world where immediately something is not working, our first thought is to throw it away. Unfortunately, this culture and mindset is not limited to material things. People toss out marriages and other divinely established relationships; they quit divine assignments and even stop walking with the Lord as soon as things get rough or it looks like something else is easier or better. But eventually, every child of God must come to a place where they must make a decision: do I keep going or do I quit to do something else?
Beloved, if you are thinking of giving up anywhere in your walk with God or your divine assignment, don’t! Continue! If you are struggling, don’t stop trying to make your way back to Him and back to your established place in Him. His love and compassion for you are relentless and He will meet you with open arms immediately you are ready to continue on with Him. As long as you have life in you, there is still a chance for you to get it right with God on this side of eternity, no matter how many opportunities you’ve missed or how bad you’ve messed up in the past.
You must continue with the Lord, OR you must continue trying to get it right until you get to the place where you can receive help from the Holy Spirit to get it right, lest you give up only moments before your breaking forth.
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
