Proverbs 13:4 NKJV
“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.”
Beloved,
What is on your mind? Have you thought about what you have been thinking about lately? Have you considered why you have been thinking such things and how it will impact your life?
Recently in church, we have been discussing the various states of our minds and what such states can lead us to. There are some states of mind which are quite dangerous one of which, is the unproductive mind. If you find yourself struggling to get things done, you must ask yourself what you have been thinking about. Once a man gets to place of full on unproductively, he’ll struggle to think through just about everything. How does a man’s mind get to such a place? It pains me to say it, but the truth is laziness. We live in a society that makes it easy for anyone to become and overly dependent on the pleasure factor.
Once it does not feel good, motivation easily reduces and eventually one will struggle or avoid thinking about anything unpleasant or inconvenient. In other words, they no longer want to do the work of thinking. The attitude of laziness is a dangerous disease that is plaguing this generation.
One suggestion I have against this attitude of laziness is to build the habit of setting your mind on the things above. The Bible says in Colossians 3:2 that we ought to set our minds on things above. In other words, stop thinking of yourself and begin to think about Gods will- what is His will for your life? What is His will for the world? What has God done for you? And so on… Beloved, an idle mind truly does give way to the devil and especially if you are a Christian, he wants nothing more than to make you unproductive. Set your mind on the things above and let the Holy Spirit move you to get to work as He does His work in you.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
