Galatians 3:13
Nevertheless, the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.

The goal of the devil is first of all to make his attack appealing to you; he wants to make it seem normal. Your acceptance of what he brings will inevitably open you up for demonic oppression and subsequent possession if not dealt with swiftly.
Possession is the residence or dominance of demons in the mind of a man; that is why many people that are possessed never knew until they are free. Here the devil wants to control an individual’s life by taking control of his mind. Just like with a snake bite, the venom is seeking to go straight to the heart. The same is with the presence of a demon, it seeks to go straight to the mind to lock it up.
Possession is a state at which there is an extraordinary influence of demons over a man’s life. Possession by demons rarely happens to believers. However, a believer that is involved in habitual sin, without a sense of guilt, is liable to being possessed.
Possession is an expression of demonic spiritual force, exerted on a man to do something against their will, while oppression takes permission from a man’s will before it has expression in his life.
