I John 1:1-3 NKJV
[1] That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— [2] the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— [3] that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Beloved,
Like we said last, a person should not just have head knowledge of a truth; it is important to be convinced and rooted in the truth. Some more steps to take to develop conviction are:
- Seek for the truth, embrace it, and love it, Hosea 6:3.
- Embrace the power of repetition. There is safety in the repetition of truth, Philippians 3:1. Love repetition of the truth. Hear the truth over and over.
- Surround yourself with an environment that causes truth to thrive, Acts 4:13, 23. Every seed has a specific environment where it thrives. The same goes for the seed of truth. Truth thrives in you when you fellowship with like-minded believers.
- Identify other contradictory knowledge and take deliberate steps to get rid of them, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. Use the word of God to cast down any argument that exalts itself against the truth.
- Protect yourself from other sources of information that are not of God, 1 Timothy 4:1 AMP. We identify some of those other sources last time. Do not entertain them.
By doing all these, the truth will take root in you and you will be convinced beyond all doubt of the home of your salvation. Then, you will not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
