It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.

Life is not a short-term battle or race. Rather, it is a journey comprised of many sprints and battles. The one who has taken time in the place of planning and in training is never under pressure and is likely to finish and finish well.
You may not be able to choose the kind of race you will run or the battles you will face in life, but you can choose your own outcome. There is victory in Christ Jesus. When you choose Him, you choose to fight from the place of victory. How? Follow the following winning strategies and you can rest assured of a victorious life worth living:
- Decide to win God’s way. The way of God is the way of righteousness and integrity, and it is safe.
- Choose your battles. We said before that you cannot always choose your battles. That is correct. But when you are in Christ, there are some battles you don’t have to fight. Beloved, it is not every battle you should choose to get involved in. At the same time, don’t allow the devil to choose your battle for you (1 Samuel 17:4,8-9).
- Develop the wisdom of the future. How do you do this? Jesus is the Wisdom of the Ancient of Days. Follow His example He gave us while He was on earth. Spend quality time in the place of prayer. Pray ahead and think bigger than your individual picture. Pray with the mind of Christ. Consider these scriptures:
Luke 22:32 NKJV
But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Mark 14:38 NKJV
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
- Think and plan ahead
Proverbs 20:18 NKJV
Plans are established by counsel; By wise counsel wage war.
One step you must take to accomplish this is that of seeking wise counsel. Have relationship with someone older and wiser than you in faith. This could be your God-ordained pastor or an experienced person of Godly wisdom and right counsel.
- Acquire weapons and gain mastery over them. Know what God has given you to fight with and practice using it so in the day of trouble, you’re ready. For a list of weapons. Check out Ephesians 6:10-18.
- Build for the future. Winning must be a lifestyle and for this to be, there must be structure in place. Ensure you have a system built around it.
With the right strategy in place, and a structure or system in place to fortify it, your winning in Jesus is sure. The future will reveal the wisdom behind making these critical decisions. We will look at a few more pointers next time.
