Psalms 92:1-2
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.
Beloved,
Our reference scripture says that it is a good thing to give thanks to God. Don’t become too familiar with the things God does, so much so that you find it unnecessary to thank Him for those things.
The following are important things to know about giving God thanks:
- Thanksgiving is an expression of your honor to God. Psalm 50:23 (AMPC).
- Thanksgiving is an accurate expression of your voice of reasoning. Leviticus 7:27 (TLB).
- When thanksgiving to God is not commensurable to what God has done for you, it is an act of pride.
- Thanksgiving is a kingdom practice that triggers the covenant of multiplication. Jeremiah 30:19.
- An acceptable thanksgiving must come out of willingness, and it must be properly served. Leviticus 22:29.
- Your thanksgiving must come out of meditation, Psalm 77:12, Psalm 107:21-22.
- Your thanksgiving must be sacrificial.
What is involved in thanksgiving. The following are components of thanksgiving:
- Your entire being – your spirit, soul, and body must be present in the act.
- There must be a verbal expression/communication of your heart to God; don’t mumble or hum your thanks.
- There must be an emotional expression of your gratitude to God.
- Your offering should smell honor to God.
Beloved, never let it be said of you that you are an ungrateful person. Don’t overlook all the good gifts of God to you nor take them for granted.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
