Psalm 127:2, Easy-to-Read Version
“It is a waste of time to get up early and stay up late, trying to make a living. The Lord provides for those he loves, even while they are sleeping.”
Beloved,
As we stated yesterday, there is a reality of the spirit of wastage. However, just like every spirit needs a body to function in, the spirit of wastage does too. In fact, that spirit works with three bodies:
1. Men
2. Habits
3. Practices
These bodies are the vehicles that bring waste into the life of a man and once wastage becomes a person’s lifestyle, invariably curses must be a part of such a life. As fruitfulness indicates blessing, wastage is an indicator of a curse. Wastage can both bring about a curse and can come as the resultant effect of a curse upon a life.
But, I want to bring to your attention today that waste is a spirit that can show up in your life through one of the three vehicles mentioned. This is so that you can be aware and when you see any of the vehicles, shut it down with quickness!
For example, the vehicle of practice can look like a daily practice of living your life independently from God. Psalm 127:1 – New Living Translation reads:
“Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good”
Another example is laziness. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 4:5 – GOD’S WORD Translation:
“A fool folds his hands and wastes away.”
We will go through more examples tomorrow. But for now, begin to take stock of your life. How are you spending your life?
The Lord will help you to recognize signs of wastage and make the necessary changes.
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
