Mark 16:20
And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
Beloved,
Thus far, we have seen how God works with our heart and thought. Today we consider another tool that God works with:
So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.
1 Samuel 17:38-39
God works with what you are comfortable working with. What you are comfortable with is what you have tested and proven; that it is first of all acceptable to God and which you have gained mastery over.
This means that God works with what is acceptable to Him, and God works with mastery. I think this is where many people fail. They can hardly boast of anything they have mastered very well. I ask people every time, “What is that thing that you have mastered very well that you can use efficiently at a moment’s notice?” A man of God once said that one major secret to his supernatural workings is that he has meditated so much on the name of Jesus that sicknesses and oppressions of the devil literally leave before he finishes saying the name of Jesus.
The truth about spiritual warfare is that when the battle is at a critical stage, you can only fall back to the weapon you have been comfortable using over time. That was what David knew, and we saw that it was what he could work with that God eventually worked with to bring the victory.
May I ask you again: What have you mastered that God can work with?
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
