DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Luke 6:38 NKJV

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Beloved,

When you don’t give, you miss opportunities to build wealth; it establishes cycles of wealth. Picture a river. If it had no opportunity to flow, it’s a matter of time before a stench and unhealthy build up is established. Giving is an act of sowing. It’s a universal force that breaks the ground of wealth. One reason people never break into the ground of wealth is because their sense for right investment is limited. Our inability to invest and do so correctly typically correlates to poor habits and poor stewardship. We cannot steward correctly when we are more selfish and self-conscious than we are spiritual and kingdom conscious. Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give! Look at this scripture.

Proverbs 21:26
“I’m giving you my opinion because it will be helpful to you. Last year, you were not only willing to take a COLLECTION BUT had already started to do it. So finish what you began to do. Then your willingness will be matched by what you accomplish”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭8‬:‭10‬-‭11‬, ‭GW‬‬
Having good intentions is not enough. We must be ready to finish the work God has called us to, especially in the place of giving.

Doing this not only makes us more like God, it confirms we know Him as our Rewarder. To know Him as a Rewarder, means we have established a level of intimacy that lets us honor Him as such.

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ 9:7

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving is an act of reverential worship. Beloved, with all God has given you, you should not come before Him empty handed or without giving Him our best. And what’s worse, it’s a dangerous thing when we consistently withhold our first. Don’t let your service and reverence to Hod be an afterthought. In fact, if it’s not our best and first or sacrificial, then it’s not reverence at all. We will talk more on this next time. Until then,

I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace. I call you blessed and nations.
