Luke 6:38 NKJV
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Beloved,
it’s not every believer who gives that has. In fact, many of them only have it to give because they have given it before. We can use the woman who washed the feet of Jesu It’s time for us to stop making excuses for not doing what our hearts have not made up their minds to do anyway. Remember:
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also
Matthew 6:19-21, NIV
…And do you recall this account given in scripture?
Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”
Mark 12:42-44
As we round up this series, I want to point out that every giver does so in one of 4 ways:
- Instinctively
- They trained for it
- Created a habit around it
- They are graced for it.
Beloved, you have no excuse be selfish or remain so. What you cannot do instinctively, learn to do it by way of scriptures and through prayer. It’s ok to have an accountability you trust to help you until you can create a habit around it. Receive grace from God to trust Him more to give you what you need and multiply what you have. God does not need your money. He desires your partnership, and He has prepared a place especially for you. As you store up goods in heaven, it’s a declaration of your determination to live the kind of life that will let you enjoy it on both sides of eternity. The Bible says.
“Stop storing up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and thieves break in and steal. Instead, store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust don’t destroy, and thieves don’t break in and steal. Your heart will be where your treasure is.”
Matthew 6:19-21, GW
God will help us in Jesus name.
I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace. I call you blessed and nations.
