Proverbs 1:10 NKJV
My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
Beloved,
Last time, we said that the first thing to do in guarding against demonic pull is to identify the pull. Today, I want to help you to identify some of them. Here are some tools of demonic pulls:
- Idol in the heart, Ezekiel 14:3 TPT. This is a major demonic pull that every believer must guard against. Anything you give priority to above God is an idol. If you have such, beware! Repent and turn back to the Lord.
- Sinners’ enticement, Proverbs 1:10. Sinners will definitely come with enticement, but you must not consent. Know that that the nature of enticement is that it will be persistent, so you must also be well grounded and determined so that you do not eventually consent.
- Territorial influence is another tool of demonic pull. In Genesis 13:12, Lot pitched his tent in the vicinity of Sodom but not in Sodom. By Genesis 14:12, he was dwelling in Sodom because the territorial influence of that land had pulled him in. Always be cognizant of the spiritual atmosphere of your environment and that of the people around you. Make sure your spirit is stronger than every contrary spirit.
- Inordinate affections, Colossians 3:5 KJV, MSG. When you find yourself desiring what you know is not good, or doing what you like when you like, regardless of the morality; that is inordinate affection. Kill it!
- Ancestral flow is another source of demonic pull. If you notice a pattern of taking the same actions that made those who have gone ahead of you end poorly, that is negative ancestral flow finding expression. You must graft yourself to another Source so you are not pulled down.
- The law of sin and death makes a man do what he should not do. But thanks be to God for the law of life in Chris Jesus that sets a man free, Romans 8:1.
Next time, we will explore steps to take to be free of these pulls identifying them.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
