Acts 27:21-25 NKJV
[21] But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. [22] And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. [23] For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, [24] saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ [25] Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
Beloved,
As we continue in this series, let’s look at some of the endogenic factors that affect identity. It starts with what we know. Our identity is established by the internal knowledge we carry about who we are, whose we are, and who our loyalty and allegiance belongs to. It also stems from our intelligence, that is, knowledge we have acquired through our studies, encounters, and experiences over time. What we have learned will be evident in our application of it. As we apply these things we have determined their truth, and we make a decision to live accordingly as evidenced by our daily routines and patterns of behavior.
Exogenic factors that determine our identity is not only our outward expression or how we present ourselves, it also entails how we respond when we are faced with any eternal stimuli or conditions that is outside of our total control.
To enjoy a solid and sound comprehension of your identity, you must give full attention to the factors that help you establish your right identity. Beloved, your looks and/or physical strength will always fade with time, it’s only a matter of time. A sensible person will focus less on outward appearance and seek to cultivate inner beauty, that is, godly character, instead. Let God and His will and word for your life determine who you are, not circumstances or anyone who did not have a hand in making you. Let the truth from God’s word be the standard with which you live your life.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
