DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

‭Acts 27:21-25 NKJV‬

[21] But after long abstinence from food, then Paul stood in the midst of them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss. [22] And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. [23] For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, [24] saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ [25] Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.

Beloved,

Understanding your identity is imperative, especially for a believer. Why? You cannot afford to allow any unauthorized entity to put a wrong label on you. When you do not know who you are, you are prone to believe what is not true concerning you. You are also prone to doing your research in all the wrong places and to your detriment because it exposes you to people, places, and experiences that will negatively influence you and your destiny.

Failure to know who you are means failure to know what to do. When you don’t have any priorities, you are prone to wasting your time. When you find yourself without priorities, boredom and loneliness are inevitable. Such experiences will cause a person to begin to explore things that may be detrimental to that person’s overall wellbeing.

Beloved, don’t find yourself looking for answers in all the wrong places. If you are not careful, you will find yourself believing lies and living not only a lie, but a lesser life – one that is completely outside of God’s presence.

As a believer, you cannot afford to be without God’s presence. If you stay away long enough, be prepared to receive the devil’s visit like he visited Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Their lives were never the same after that. Neither were any of the lives that would come after theirs.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
