Galatians 1:11-12
But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Beloved,
Jesus is both the Son of God and the Son of Man, and it is important to understand who He is per time. His manifestation as both dimensions is what qualifies him to be the author of our faith. He was sent to world as the Son of God but lived on the earth mostly as the Son of Man so that he can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, John 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:14.
His manifestation as the Son of Man qualified Him to shed His blood. Jesus the Son of Man hung on the cross, not Jesus the Son of God. And what makes Jesus’ blood to be acceptable is that the blood is uncontaminated. Why was His blood not contaminated? He was without sin. Being the Son of God made it impossible for Him to sin, 1 John 3:9, 5:18.
The manifestation of Jesus as the Son of God was what made Him a threat to the devil. The term, “Son of God” is an office, this was what made Him to be undefeatable. This was why the devil tempted Him as the Son of God, not as the Son of Man, Matthew 4:4-6.
Beloved, the end point of my message today is that the manifestation of Jesus as the Son of God prototypes for us the possibility of living the Godkind of life on the earth. Whenever the weakness of your flesh comes because you are a son of man, there is power available to override that by living as a son of God, John 17:1-3. Jesus gave us the ability to overrule human tendencies and limitations.
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
