1 Samuel 17:26
26 Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
Develop your confidence before your opportunity comes. Some people have lost opportunities including who to marry because they never get confident in themselves. Some are yet to sit for a qualifying exam they have spent years to prepare for just because they could never be confident enough to believe that they will pass. Some people specialize in beating themselves down and they never see anything good in their effort. People who do this will always miss opportunities because they never consider themselves good enough. Such people will recommend their friend for promotion that they should take. In the scripture above, David was confident enough and maximized the opportunity to kill Goliath.
Opportunities do not announce itself; you must be at alert enough to seize it when it comes. Your mind must be ready and developed enough. There may be no time for second-guessing yourself. Some successful people are considered arrogant because of their approach to life. It may seem like they are selfish and inconsiderate of others, however, many of them understand the secret of seizing opportunities. They are not ready to miss the opportunities that others are not ready to take.
If there is any prayer you have prayed and you are yet to see its manifestation, the problem may be that you have not developed the confidence needed to possess your blessing.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
