Lay Up Treasures in Heaven II
Matthew 6:19-21
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

We started talking about how it is important to lay up treasures in heaven and we identified some things every believer should consider treasures. But what are some practical ways to lay up treasures in heaven?
Your journey of laying up treasures in heaven starts with your willingness to detach yourself from worldly possessions. Cultivate the culture and the habit of giving and teach your children to do likewise. Whenever you receive a new item or have a new accomplishment, transfer the ownership to God. This way, you won’t find it difficult to release it to God if He has need of it. Note the following:
- Identify the treasure.
- Engage the treasure by using it and by giving it.
- Know that the use of the treasures brings glory to God.
- Bear fruit that abides, even after you have physically gone.
