Beloved,
It is imperative that you ensure that your expression of love is truly in accordance with God’s word. Firstly, you can never truly love someone outside of the love of God. God, Himself is love. Any other kind of love is a counterfeit.
I Peter 3:8 NKJV
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
Love binds together. It attracts and promotes unity. Brotherly love is not a one and done thing; it must be a continuous. Love is the standard. It is God’s standard. Love, by God’s standard, does not repay evil for evil. It encourages and uplifts others. Apostle Paul’s counsels us with the following:

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.
Love provokes one to do the needful to keep the faith of his or her fellow brethren high. It makes sacrifices as necessary.
Love cannot be expressed through words, alone. Love requires actions.
