DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Exodus 33:14:

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Beloved,

It is a privilege to be able to host the Presence of God. Sadly, many of us take it for granted. In this write up, I want to bring our attention to some people who encountered God through what our generation might call “third-party transactions.” All of them lived on earth before the incarnation of God in the person of Christ Jesus, the Son. Take the Prophet Isaiah, for example. He saw the Lord. He experienced Him and his first response was to recognize how unworthy he was. Either he was wise enough or God was merciful enough to let him confess his sin and he was among the first to enjoy God’s cleansing power and authority as the angel of the Lord purged his lips.

“And he touched my mouth with it, and said: ‘Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.’” Isaiah 6:7

That removal of sin qualified Isaiah to experience God’s glorious presence in another dimension. Beloved, do not waste divine encounter. God gives good gifts. The Bible itself tells us that:

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” -James 1:17

Indeed, He gives us good gifts, but no gift is greater than His presence. He desires intimacy with us. He has put structure in place to partner with us to get things done on this side of eternity and for our sake. When you are in God’s activated presence, make the most of it. The reality is this: no matter what happens, in the end, God will be glorified. Do not waste such an opportunity by leaving His glorious presence and absolutely nothing to show for it. The first step to maximizing divine encounter is to respond to it. Be where God tells you, when He tells you. Secondly, receive what He has for you there. Be sensitive enough not to be superficial. Let His Spirit lead you. As you do His will He goes to work on your behalf. Finally, respond. Receive instruction. Answer His call. Obey. God’s greatest desire is for His law and love to abound in you as you abound in Him. May you maximize the joy of His Presence, always.

I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace. I call you blessed and nations.
