Mighty to Save IV
Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.

Beloved,
In this write up, I want us to review some of the things that makes Jesus so mighty to save us. But before that, I want to bring to our attention why it is important. If you are a Christian, you not only made the decision to make and declare Jesus as Lord and Savior, you also made the decision to imitate Christ. The Bible says:
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2, NLT
In other words, you choose to make Christ your Lord and Savior in both word and in action. With Christ at work in you, you are fully equipped to do God’s will. The Bible says:
Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2:12-13, NLT
In other words, your salvation is not for show alone. Your salvation equips you with Might, Himself, to do what pleases the Father.
This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4,NLT
So, it pleases the Father for all men to be brought to salvation.
Revelations 5:1-12 gives us elements of Christ that qualified Him to be Lord and Savior of all. We have discussed some already (We examined the fact that He is God’s Son and that He was obedient to God’s will). Let’s look at a few more.
The first is that Jesus is not only the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, He is also the Lamb; the only one counted worthy to open the scroll according to Revelations 4:8-13.
If you think of the character of a lamb, you will see that lambs can be led (Isaiah 53:7; Revelations 5:6). Can you be led. Can God take you and place you where He needs you?
Another quality of Mighty Jesus is that He went through the necessary process: he was born of a virgin, lived as a son of man, died on the cross, buried for three days, resurrected, and ascended. Every great destiny – the kind that is strong enough to produce mighty, lasting results – requires the bearer to go through a process. Where are you at in your process in life. How are you doing in your process? When it seems you are not where you ought to be, ask yourself, am I being led? By who? Have I been obedient to the one I have chosen to entrust my life to?
We will look at a few more character traits of the One who is mighty to save tomorrow.
