Mighty to Save V
Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.
Hebrews 5:8-9, NLT
Beloved,
While we are still on the topic of traits that qualify Jesus as mighty to save us, don’t forget that if you are a Christian, you too are mighty because Christ is at work in you. The next trait I will disclose is that makes Jesus mighty to save us is the authority that He carries. The Bible says this:
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.”
Matthew 28:18, NLT
Everything is legally under Him. And those who yield to His authority enjoy the benefits of His Fatherhood. Where is your God-given authority? Are you taking up responsibility over the territories He has entrusted to your care? Know that if God has placed you in a position of authority anywhere, He will empower you to fulfill all righteousness in that place.
The next, and probably most obvious trait of Christ is love. His mighty salvation is packaged in love. Romans 5:8 says:
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
Everything Christ does for us, He does from the platform of love. In fact, He Himself is love!
…because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Hebrews 12:6
Even the consequences He gives us, He gives purely from the precious love that only comes from the Father’s heart. I implore you to follow the wisdom Apostle Paul shared with us: “…And do everything with love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14, NLT).
May the Lord, God Almighty continue to strengthen you to do great things in Jesus’ Mighty name.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
