Mark 10:46-47,51-52 NKJV
[46] Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. [47] And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” [51] So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” [52] Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Beloved,
Ocassionally, we find ourselves in a not so good position that life has subjected us to. Such was the case with Bartimaeus. His blindness put him in a position like any other blind man in his city but his mindset propelled by the knowledge he subscribed to and the expectation he had separated him from other blind men eventually. How do I know? His response when he heard that Jesus was passing by showed that.
As soon as he was alerted that it was Jesus, he started shouting. Also, he was not just shouting at random, he was shouting covenant-oriented statements. This shows that he has made a research to know what would move Jesus and had an expectation that drew Jesus to him eventually. Of course, the rest is the history.
You might presently be at a position that life has subjected you to, please don’t worry. Do yourself a favor of adjusting your mind and setting your expectations right. In no time, Jesus will pass through and your covenant-oriented shout will soon catch His attention, set you apart from others and lift you from the beggarly place to a wealthy place.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
