Acts 2:17-18
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, ‘That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your young men shall see visions. Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.”

A lot of translations use the word “moisture” in Luke 8:6:

[6] Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture.

[6] Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture.
Luke 8:6 AMP
[6] And some seed fell on [shallow soil covering] the rocks, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
“Moisture” in this context, is an of water that isn’t too much or too forceful in size or operation, but is effective enough to the germination of the seed. Confession of God’s word and keeping His word in our heart (meditation on it until we see the manifestation) create a moisturized environment that preserves us from the wiles of Satan as we grow and develop into who the Holy Spirit can partner with to produce good fruit and get things done on the earth.
Please understand, where dry ground exists, demonic attack is inevitable. Dry ground is any area in your life or assigned territory that is unexposed to, underexposed to, unreceptive to, or unable to retain God’s word to the point of fruitfulness. God’s word is described as a seed in scripture because there is a way we ought to engage and intimate ourselves with it. God’s word brings things to light and life. We should always engage God’s word to the point of becoming and producing that which will nourish, protect, preserve and promote the growth of God’s people. We should engage His word to the point of immunity against things like sin and sickness (Psalm 107:20; Psalm 119:11). God’s word lets us know our worth and value. We were made in His image. We should carry His Spirit! If we or any area of our lives will last and thrive to the point of flourishing, we need His word. Why? Constant exposure to His word keeps us from getting dry. John helps us to understand that Christ’s word is His Spirit that gives, preserves, and even resurrects life in His people and their situations:
John 6:63 NKJV
[63] It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Where His Spirit is, there is freedom and safety because His word serves as a defensive weapon that keeps us from sin and death (Ephesians 6; 2 Corinthians 3). I enjoin you to make reading, confessing and meditating on the word of God your standard. If you don’t want the heat of life to choke your encounter, keep your word in a “moisturized environment.” The Lord is helping us.
