Hebrews 12:14-15 NKJV
[14] Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: [15] looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Beloved,
Just like you must be cautious regarding foods that are toxic to your health, you must also be careful around things that are toxic to your destiny. If you are careless, you may end up paying for it, (Hebrews 12:14-15). Let’s review some toxic things to avoid:
- Root of bitterness. No matter how angry you are, be careful not to cross over the boundary into bitterness. This toxicity causes defilement in the life of the one who has it, which may cause God to begin to keep quiet on him. Unforgiveness particularly will lead to bitterness.
- Lack of clarity. Confusion is toxic to your destiny. The ability to know what to do on time is a type of grace you should seek for. It is a hallmark of wisdom.
- Nonchalant attitude especially to spiritual things. The Holy Spirit who knows all things may have seen ahead in the life of a person, atrocities and evil the enemy is seeking to cause. And because of His compassionate nature, He will seek to communicate this to the person. When a person is nonchalant, it will be difficult to receive such divine communications, and the devil will eventually catch up with that person if they are not careful.
- Haste. This means lack of patience. It also means unwillingness or unreadiness to go through process. Haste will blindfold you from what God is doing.
- Defiling spiritual and destiny patterns. There is a way God has designed things to work. And if you run from pillar to post, looking for a shortcut, you won’t still get what you’re looking for. For instance, the primary way God speaks to his children is through his word. So if someone works in the prophetic ministry and neither prays nor reads the Bible, the person must be getting his supply of information from a demonic spirit.
- Unfaithfulness. Be committed to God. Trust him enough to lead you on in life.
Your awareness of these toxic traits will help you know what signs to look out for and how to avoid them in your life.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
