Job 14:7-9 NKJV
[7] “For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. [8] Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, [9] Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.
Beloved,
Previously, I explained that you may have found yourself in situations or circumstances that shook you and made you doubt all you believed. If you happen to be facing this challenge presently, your wisdom is to take back your confidence as only you can make this resolve and take this step.
Why should you keep your confidence:
- It is an important part of your skillset because a lot is predicated on the confidence you possess. Confidence in God will restore confidence in yourself and that is where it must start from.
- You cannot win without confidence. David had great confidence in God and from his story, we learn that confidence will qualify you.
- You owe confidence to yourself and to your posterity. When you lack confidence, you have set a limit to how far you and your lineage can go.
- The success and performance of other people depends on your confidence, as a parent, this must be of extreme importance to you.
So, how can you build your confidence:
- Listen to the right things. Start from the word of God. Your faith and confidence will depreciate when you stray from God.
- Surround yourself with the right people. Ensure you get what you need to get from people and don’t be reluctant to pay to learn if possible. Make sure that the people around you are those who will build you up and cheer you on, not tear you down.
- Get rid of distractions and focus on the goal.
- Engage your mouth rightly. Resist the devil and every negative thoughts with your voice and your mouth.
- Don’t despise small things of life.
- Keep the covenants that God has made with you, Joshua 5:2-15.
- Be reminded of past victories. Do this by keeping a journal of the faithfulness of God. Celebrate every victory, however big or small, and let it fuel your confidence.
Pray and never stop praying, 1 Kings 18:41-45. - Believe your prophecies.
- Learn to shut down negative voices in your life.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
