Lamentations 3:58 NKJV
O Lord, You have pleaded the case for my soul; You have redeemed my life.
Beloved,
Redemption is the action of gaining and regaining possession of something in exchange for debt repayment. It serves as a supreme reference to the work of Christ where He purchased and ransomed us at the cost of His own life, securing our deliverance from the bondage and condemnation of sin. Beloved, your life as a believer is built around redemption. Failure to receive the gifts of salvation makes one, at best, an object of pity because it means one is living a life that God cannot defend.
For this reason, you must have a clear understanding of what it offers you. Inattentiveness to the benefits and protocols of redemption is an invitation for the enemy to steal all God has made available to you through the force of redemption.
Redemption is the action of saving and being saved from error, sin, and all evil. It’s not a one-time experience, it is lifelong. In redemption we don’t lose. We gain everything that God has in store for us. Be intimately acquainted with these stages of redemption:
- Pre-redemption: It starts from prophecy and is captured in the life, death and ascension of Christ. Everything that happened to Jesus was written in prophecy. If one failed, all would have failed.
- Redemption: Having heard the word of salvation and believed the finished work of Christ, you acknowledge that you are a sinner, confess your sins, and repent from them (Romans 10:9-10).
- Finally, make the decision to accept Jesus as personal Savior and Lord. And confess it!
Please note, all three stages are essential. The message of redemption is not complete without repentance and forgiveness of sin. We will talk more on pillars of redemption next time.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
