DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

Beloved,
You must remember that you are on a journey. 1 Kings 19:5-8 gives us a clue of what this mindset entails. In this part of scripture, Elijah was instructed by the angel to wake up and eat because the journey ahead of him was great. What does this mean? To get up and eat means you’re to prepare for what is ahead of you. Your life is not about just today. There is still more ahead of you, and you still have a ways to go in the journey of destiny.

What you do today doesn’t end today, it goes into the future. The success of today is not an indication of the success of the future. Meaning, you cannot determine how successful you are just looking at today’s results. But everything you do daily is leading up to a predetermined future, so you have to equally pay close attention to daily habits. You truly cannot appreciate the things you are learning now until you get into the future when the Holy Spirit will begin to bring them to your remembrance as you need those remainders.

The Holy Spirit is teaches you all things and also reminds you of all things. The Holy Spirit can only remind you of what you have been taught. So, if you don’t take your lessons to heart in any season of life, there will be nothing the Holy Spirit will remind you of in days to come. A lot of people get to a point in their future, and they feel stuck and look stupid, as if God has abandoned them or there is no way through. This is because the lesson that would have supplied wisdom at that junction wasn’t taken seriously when they ought to have learned it.

The scripture talks about the 5 wise virgins and 5 foolish virgins. What qualified the 5 virgins to be wise was the extra they took with them on their journey. Prepare now. Do your research now. And like Elijah, prepare well because the journey before you is great.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
