Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Today, I will continue to share with you how preserve your children by raising them in the right atmosphere.
Know that there is a window of time in the life of every child where they will accept your guidance and instructions with minimal questions. Maximize that time to sow into them the truths they must know and adopt. Use that period of time when they are tender in age and heart to teach them and ground them in godly values. Ensure at this time that their identity derives from God and His word. The world is ready to indoctrinate your children if you allow it. So get ahead of the game and safeguard them against seductive and demonic philosophies propagated by wicked people. You will do well to teach your children by yourself the truth you want them to know and to run with.
You must also constantly create an atmosphere of joy and peace in your home. Don’t allow gloom in your home or excuse moodiness as a trait of adolescents. Don’t be negligent of your children needs and emotions. There will be times when you may have to suspend what you are occupied with just to listen to them. Be present mentally when they are with you physically. Give your children time and attention. Communicate to them that they have your love, your acceptance, your forgiveness, your correction and rebuke, and your undivided attention.
