For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
Beloved,
Inaccurate understanding of the local church will limit one from experiencing the fullness of its benefits. Church is not a gathering of perfect people, it is a gathering of perfecting people. If you don’t trust church and its system, you will not receive or profit from it.
This is because the stream or flow of divine things will always be in three ways:
- From God to man directly.
- From God, through the church, to man.
- From God, through His anointed servants, to man.
Correct church membership is a compulsory subject that must be taught. One major attack of the devil is to make men believe that they don’t need to belong to a church. Wrong perspective about church is the poison of the devil. God is the Father of a believer, but the mother is the church. Church as a mother is a nurturer. Every deficiency or surplus in the life of a believer can be traced to the church they attend.
When God calls you to a church, it is to enjoy the kingdom of heaven on earth. There is an ongoing assault of the devil against the church. These can be seen in how people are:
- Abandoning the necessity of consecration by embracing the perversion of grace.
- Embracing revival but absolute refusal to follow through with daily sacrifices of labor in word and prayers.
- Desecrating holy things of God by the:
- abuse of one’s liberty in Christ.
- abuse of God’s authentic servants.
- abuse of the church.
In this series, I will be calling us back to the place of authentic church membership because it is a tragedy for a believer not to have a church family.
