John 6:5-6 NKJV
Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
Beloved,
As a means of introduction to understanding what our stance should be in a crisis, we started to talk about the purpose of crises in our lives and how that should shape our mindset about them. We have also learned the three areas of concentration for positive control over your situation and how they are requirements for staying one step ahead of the devil. Now we will be considering some default responses to deploy in crisis for you to maintain your calmness and confidence so as to be able to guide your confessions in a Godly manner. As long as you are aware of them, you will always have more authority to control your experiences no matter how hopeless situations get (Isaiah 8:12).
First you must understand that “this sickness is not unto death” (John 11:4). In the face of any sickness, your first response must not be one of worry but a declaration that demonstrates your confidence in God’s ability to deliver. This is what holds lives on this side of eternity, no matter how critical the conditions. In a similar vein, you must know that Jesus is “the Resurrection and Life” (John 11:25). These truths worked for Lazarus. Though Jesus was saddened by Lazarus’ condition, He did not cry before declaring the word because he knew the power of God to give and restore life is much greater than the ability of any illness to take it away.
In crises where you lack direction for the next step, remind yourself that “Jesus is the way, the truth, and life” (John 14:6). If this statement is true and a situation concerns you, God must always make a way. Similarly, you must learn to declare that “it is well” (2 Kings 4:23,26); not as a cliche, but as an expression of faith. The Shunammite woman uttered this statement according to her expectations for the future, not according to her pain. This is how you take charge. Lastly, for today, you must confidently say that “the Lord will help me” (Isaiah 50:7 KJV). These statements work, even as simple as they are.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
