For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
Beloved,
The church supplies solid parental care for your spiritual growth and solid support for your Christian journey, Jeremiah 3:15, 1 Corinthians 12:25. It is the school of the spirit, a place where your spirit man is fed and nurtured and pruned so that you don’t endure the truth of God’s word, but you grow to enjoy and embrace it as your mind is continuously renewed and your spirit man is becoming more like Christ.
Hebrews 12:18-24 describes what happens when we come to Mount Zion, i.e., when believers gather to worship the Lord in a local church. We fellowship with spirits of just men made perfect there are innumerable angels in our midst when we gather. Even though we may not see them, they are always there. When we advocate for people to come to church, it is so they can come to enjoy all these blessings.
The church gives a platform for an atmosphere of spiritual interactions. Angels ascend and descend upon us. Graces are released. Negative spirits leave and the right spirits come into men. Something happens in the church that does not happen anywhere else. The covenant God makes with the church finds expression in the personal lives of members.
The church is a place where peculiar deliverances takes place, Joel 2:32. The local church is the major distribution center for help; help is dispatched directly from God to His children, Psalm 20:1-2, Acts 12:1-11. God will grant you some things directly, however, many times, possibilities will get channeled to your life because you are joined to a church.
The church offers you a platform to serve the Lord. Your service to God faithfully or otherwise will one day be accounted for. You will give account for your direct contribution to God’s purpose on the earth. If you have been given assignments in church and you are not putting your best to it, you are short changing yourself for the potential rewards you can enter into in the future.
Beloved, never go to be with the Lord without you having an assignment you will personally spearhead for God in His kingdom. Get involved in God’s program because there are earthly and eternal rewards for it.
