James 1:17 KJV
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Beloved,
Every good and perfect gift comes from God. The amazing thing about God’s gifts, like everything about His kingdom is that they are profitable. They always yield increase in your life and the life of others in one way or another.
So far, we have looked at a few gifts: Jesus, the Son of God, salvation, eternal life, the love of Jesus, and the grace of God.
Today we will talk about the gift of overcoming. One of the covenants we have in our church is that the game or battle is never over until we win. Victory is a gift given freely to all of us who are in Christ Jesus. He already won it for us, we only have to endure to overcome the obstacles Satan has placed in our way. It says in the book of Revelations:
Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
-Revelation 3:21 NLT
After overcoming we have the gift of ministry. That is the grace and capacity to serve.
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Ephesians 4:11 NLT
The verse above lists the various gifts God has graciously given the body of Christ to serve Him and to serve one another. What a privilege!
Next we have the gift of men. The gift of men is very valuable gift.
I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.
2 Timothy 1:5 NLT
Timothy was blessed to have his mother and grandmother. Who do you have? Who has God gifted you with to help you on your journey. You must not take them for granted.
We will unpack the last of the gifts tomorrow. But for today, I pray that you will take some time to reflect on all the gifts God has given us, especially those we have overlooked or taken for granted until now.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
P.S. – I want to formally invite you to our annual Night of Colors on 22th December, 2022. Our theme this year is CHRIST REVEALED! You don’t want to miss it! Get your mind ready! More details to come
