Revelations 1:1-3
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
Beloved,
Last time, we discussed the power of the testimony of the water, the Spirit and the blood in connecting you to the divine revelation of Christ Jesus. Before then, we shared that another means of gaining such revelation is through your knowledge of the works that Jesus did. I also want to include that you can catch the revelation of Christ Jesus from the testimonies of men AND God can even speak to you Himself. He can visit you in a vision or dream or through His people.
Now, the question becomes, how do you know you truly received a revelation of Him. Many people claim to know Him, but even the Bible records Jesus warning that not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21).
So how then do we know if we truly have had a revelation of Him? Firstly, know that the key to receiving the revelation of Jesus is your willingness to come to Him. You must genuinely desire to know Him, be ready to follow the steps we have discussed thus far, and truly believe what you’ve seen and heard concerning Him from the reliable sources we have discussed so far in this series. You must accept the revelation as truth and base your life and decisions accordingly.
You will know you have accomplished this when you are in full compliance and obedience to His word and instructions. He says in His word, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Your accuracy and consistency in hearing His instructions and obeying what is required is a direct indicator of your revelation of Him. The answer is also found in the latter part of the verse I shared earlier.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven
Matthew 7:21
You will also know you’ve had a true revelation because you too will want to bare testimony! You may have heard the testimony of Jesus Christ from others. Maybe you heard the message preached from the man or woman of God. Maybe you have His direct testimony through the reading of His word or even heard directly from Him yourself! Whichever way you received it, there is no way you can experience such a revelation and not do something about it. By default, your ways will change. Your priorities will change and your testimony will change. Your heart will overflow and you will want the world to know. Acts of the Apostles talks about how Peter and John were arrested and even then, they could not stop sharing the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ! They were firmly commanded not to, but the evidence of the revelation they had about Jesus Christ was evident in the signs and wonders they performed and it was evident in their testimonies. They said:
We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.
Acts 4:20, NLT
May you enjoy the divine revelation of Jesus Christ and may it manifest in every area of your life in Jesus mighty name.
In the next edition, I will share more on the benefits of receiving a true revelation of Christ in your life.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
