Revelations 1:1-3
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
Beloved,
One of the most amazing things about revelation is that it brings intimacy- what is revealed to you is YOURS. It is only you that can do something about the revelation that you receive. Revelation moves us from religious activity to spiritual experiences. And it can do this because revelation, as we said before, is a force. It equips you with the insights necessary to make intelligent moves.
Revelation births genuine relationship. As mentioned before, the most important revelation every kingdom relevant person must have is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Hearing, reading, and meditating on God’s word are a gateway to this. Time in His presence gets you there. Engaging His word and applying it to your daily life will get you there. These activities please God and provoke revelation. John, the Beloved enjoyed such and wrote critical books of the Bible we benefit from till today. In fact, the epithet we know him by indicates his revelation of and relationship with Christ Jesus. Your revelation will define your relationship.
If you do not have a revelation of Christ, you can never have the revelation of God’s Kingdom. You will not have the power of His word at work for you and therefore you will not engage life optimally. Limitation will reign and rule in your affairs. Understand that God’s kingdom will advance whether you subscribe to it or not. But it will be unfortunate if your experiences on earth and thereafter are not optimal because you failed to yield to Christ, revealed. You must position yourself for revelation. Ask God for it. Wait for it. Don’t make critical moves without it.
Beloved, true and right relationship demand revelation. How can you be intimate with or draw closer to He whom you do not know? How can you know without revelation?
We are called to preach Christ, revealed. We must know who He is. We must know who He is for us. We must know His stance on things. We must know when He is moving and how He wants us to move with Him and then, with the revelation of these, we can govern ourselves accordingly. I pray you will enjoy the revelation of Christ Jesus in such a way that He will be revealed in you.
I commit you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
