John 2:23-25, KJV
When he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”
Beloved,
Christians, you have an advantage. You have the advantage of access. You have direct access to the Father through Christ Jesus. You also have the advantage of the Holy Spirit at work in you. The Holy Spirit is there to guide and comfort you. He is also there to comfort you and help you see things more clearly.
We see from the scriptures here that Jesus wasn’t swayed by life’s affairs or the reactions of men. It was because of how He spent His time that He could interpret things correctly and make decisions that were not based on His flesh. Jesus was always a step ahead.
If you want to stay a step ahead, you must quickly adopt the following habits:
- Disengage emotions from decisions. Every major decision you make should be in response to the information you have from the Holy Spirit. That could be divine instruction, prophecy, etc.
- Learn to interpret situations correctly. There is a difference between how things appear and how they actual are. There is a difference between a fact and the truth. You must distinguish these quickly.
- Finally, you must develop your perception. The Bible says:
“And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?”
Mark 2:8, KJV
Luke 5:22 and 9:46 show us comparable situations where Jesus was able to accurately perceive the unseen and unspoken things in the hearts of men.
Per adventure, you are not seeing things clearly, that is, by the spirit; check your habits. If you find that every decision you make and all your outcomes in life are based only on what you know by your natural senses, you may need a boost in your spiritual life. Don’t just be reactive in life. Establish in your mind that the access and authority that comes with your salvation must put you ahead.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
