DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Ecclesiastes 7:14 MSG

On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won’t take anything for granted.

Beloved,

I discovered that a lot of people take things for granted a lot and this costs many a lot. The regrets that an average older person has in the latter years of their live are regrets of “avoidable mistakes” that they make, and a major part of these avoidable mistakes is the mistake made because of things were taken for granted.

Stop taking easy or free access for granted. That something is easy or free does not mean that it is cheap and valueless. Every free thing was actually paid for by someone. It is at the juvenile stage of life that only the price you pay for something determines the level of value you place on it. Do better by allowing the functionality to determine the value. When you have free access to a great man, avoid the sin of familiarity. Never cross certain boundaries because it can be disastrous.

Stop taking life for granted. Early in life, God spoke to me that life is too short to be used to perform experiments. When you see how people leave their lives to chances, I pity their ignorance. They do not know that when you do not take life seriously, the devil takes control and pushes you to the corner where you are forced to handover the power of your will to him. It is bad to have a nonchalant attitude to life. People who have this kind of attitude are lackadaisical and value nothing.

Stop taking the love and support of your spouse for granted. If your spouse is cooking for you, doing laundry for you, taking care of the home, calling you and doing what they know how to do best, please don’t take it for granted. What your spouse is doing, and you are not appreciative of is what someone else is ready to spend their last penny to get. Stop taking each other for granted.

I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
