Ecclesiastes 7:14 MSG
On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won’t take anything for granted.
Beloved,
Yesterday we started exploring the instruction that we should stop taking things for granted. Today, we continue as we look at other areas where we must not commit that error.
Stop taking people for granted. You never can tell who a person is, or who they going to be in the nearest future. When Nabal took David for granted, he paid for it with his life.
Stop taking yourself for granted. You only have one life to live; live it to the fullest. There are many things that can come out of your life if you take yourself seriously. Do not lose your guard, having the mindset that you cannot fall into sin. Most of the people that backslid did not explicitly plan to do so. Be careful!
Stop taking the goodness of God for granted. This mindset of entitlement brings out an arrogant nature in man. Nobody really deserves or owns anything except for grace, and that grace must never be taken for granted.
Lastly, stop taking God for granted. When I see how believers parade themselves in His presence, I wonder if it is the same God of the Bible we are all worshiping. Please, stop taking Him for granted. Yes,
He is loving but He is also the Judge of all. He is kind, but He is not safe. He is the LAMB, but He is also the LION.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
