1 Samuel 2:9
For by strength no man shall prevail.
Beloved,
As we celebrate this year’s Father’s Day, it is my pleasure to celebrate all the fathers that have been rising to the task of fatherhood. I grew up to hear elderly people saying, “to be a man is not a day’s job”. Indeed, as I grow up, I can perfectly understand this fact. The community where many people grew up make this statement to be even more true as the environment does not support a normal life. So, a man who can rise against all odds to fulfil his task as a man must be commended.
Today’s devotion is to encourage you as a man or the men in your life to keep the light on. No matter how hard it is to provide or to carry out your assignment, God’s help is always available. However, you must swallow your pride and let the Holy Spirit help you. The statement I just made now is crucial because an average man who claims to be responsible prefers to do everything possible to figure things out by himself. But by strength shall no man prevail.
The more the needs to meet and tasks to take up, the more our dependence on God must be. We must always remember that man is not designed to make it by his human strength alone (1 Samuel 2:9). So, instead of being overwhelmed by the demands of life, turn to Him and it will amaze you how much help He has made available for you in this season.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
