Mark 4:35-41 NKJV
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” [36] Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. [37] And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. [38] But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” [39] Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. [40] But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Beloved,
Our life on the earth is sectioned into different times and seasons. One of those seasons is the season I term “the season of storms of life”.
A storm of life represents a season of loss and failure. David was there when he came back from his Ziklag victory only for him to find his city raided (1 Samuel 30). It is a season when our faith is tested like Job’s was tested. It is also a season when the reality of our human frailty dawns on us. An example of this is when a man cannot do what he used to do before because of the degeneration of his body frame.
A season of storms of life could be a season when the reality and revelation of our problems and needs seem to be stronger than the reality and revelation of our God. It is a season when the fear of the unknown is drowning our faith. It is also a season when we are becoming impatient in the place of waiting because the reality of chronos time is dawning on us (Abraham Genesis 15). I call this time a “faith-crisis season”.
It is also a season when the devil is fighting your crossing over and when he is trying to stop you from entering the next phase of your life.
By tomorrow, we shall continue in the series. Meanwhile, I am praying for you that whatever thing that represents a storm in your life be dealt with by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
