John 14:16-26 NLT
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”
Romans 8:11
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Beloved,
I rounded off our last Daily Plug with a brotherly counsel about your priorities. I said you should make it your priority to start habitually doing what you must to be in control of your life.
In addition to all we have discussed, I want to stress the importance of your spiritual activity in general. It can’t be that you read your Bible and pray at convenience. Your speaking in tongues cannot be seasonal. If you truly desire to be in control of your life. Check your daily routines. What are your habits? More importantly what are your spiritual habits. Studying, meditating and confessing God’s word, praying by faith according to His Word, praying in tongues are all things that allow the Holy Spirit to work for you, giving you optimal control over your life.
Doing any of those things haphazardly is almost more dangerous than being a full out unbeliever. The devil will hardly bother the life of unbelievers. They are just there, unbothered like tools in his toolbox, until he has need for them. But if you are a child of God, you are a threat to him and, like a rat, he is looking for every unattended area of your life to eat up.
You know you are in control of your life when you live your life intentionally. Your purpose for living should be clear. The way you must accomplish your purpose should be clear, too. If you find your life is not aligned with your purpose, stop and take inventory. Analyze how you are spending your time and who you are spending it with. Make sure you are doing every spiritual activity to keep the Holy Spirit actively in the lead.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
