The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.
Beloved,
For the past few days, we have been learning about the power of a born again spirit. As the the scripture above highlights, after acquiring something of value, it is important to know how to utilize it so as to get all its benefits. Last time, we said you must feed your redeemed spirit to harness all that it can offer. To wrap-up this series, let’s consider some more things you need to do to unlock the power of your born again spirit:
- Engage your spirit by practicing what I call “system switch”. By this I mean, regularly switch from the natural to the spiritual. Approach situations, people, decisions not naturally, but in their spiritual realities.
- Keep your spirit pure, 1 John 3:1-3. The purer your spirit, the more receptive it is to supernatural communication. Stay away from whatever looks more like your past than your future.
- Let your spirit fellowship with right spirits, Hebrews 12:22-24. You become who you spend time with and behold, Proverbs 27:17.
- Create a right and thriving atmosphere for your spirit. Every seed has a specific environment that supports its growth. It is so for believers too. Create an atmosphere of word and worship around you. Create an environment where you will hear when God speaks to you.
- Avoid putting undue pressure on your spirit. The born-again spirit has potential, but it usually takes time to grow to manifestation. Don’t take on more than the current capacity of your spirit so that you don’t crash. In John 7:2-9, Jesus did not let men push Him into actions whose appointed time were yet to come. Be like Jesus.
- Never quench the Holy Spirit. It automatically leads to the quenching of your own spirit, 1 Thessalonians 5:19 (AMP). Never deliberately disobey the Holy Spirit’s instruction to you or silence His voice in your life. Hear Him and obey.
