Jeremiah 9:23-24
“Thus says the LORD, ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this: That he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,’ says the LORD.”
Beloved,
Once we begin to exalt any other thing, especially our own experiences or feelings or thoughts… we don’t limit God (because we can’t), we limit how we are able to enjoy Him at work in our lives.
The reality is this: there is no how we can boast in our own strength, intelligence and understanding of riches and still call ourselves children of God. If we will boast in or glorify anything we are experiencing or enjoying -any revelation, provision or whatever thing that is happening that is or results in wonder on this side of eternity- it will be in the privilege we have of knowing and understanding the person of God, the presence of God, and the power of God. This is God in His totality. Today, let us look at God’s person.
The Person of God refers to the personality (the nature and character of God). The Presence of God is His atmosphere that He shares with man, Genesis 28:16 NKJV, “Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”
Exodus 33:14 NKJV, “And He said, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
The person of God means knowing God’s personality and his principles. This will help you interact well with his power and his presence.
The death of man when he fell in Eden literally meant the loss of capacity to perceive, accommodate, align with, adjust to and enjoy the presence of God. When he lost that capacity, man was sent out of Eden which represents the presence of God. Before the fall of man, the presence of God used to automatically activate and initiate the power of God but after man fell, God’s presence became separated from His power. His presence is everywhere but His power is no more present or/and activated everywhere. To have His power working as His presence, (except at the demonstration of His supremacy), there must be an activation which invariably leads to the manifest presence of God – also known as shekinah.
One of the most critical effects of redemption is the reconnection of man back to the presence of God with no intermediary, making the presence of God available in abundance to man with no restriction. The goal of God is not just that you have His presence, it is that you have His manifest presence.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
