Colossians 2:8-9
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
Beloved,
You are in union with Christ and God wants you to not only have that realization but to experience all that the union has to offer you. I explained yesterday that your union with Christ raises you to His level. The story that explains this clearly is that of Joseph interpreting Pharaohs dream and his reward for doing so. The same way Pharaoh raised Joseph to his level is the same way Christ has raised you to his level.
Being in union with Christ means taking on His character, nature and value, Galatians 3:27. For example, Jesus doesn’t see the devil on rampage and then leave him to keep ruling. He confronts the devil anywhere He finds him and sends him packing. That is what you as a believer who is in union with Christ must do too. True encounter with Jesus will cause many things to change about you. The way you talk, the way you dress, the way you see things will change. Everything will change.
Union with Christ means you have His righteousness, Romans 8:1, and you are rich in all things, 1 Corinthians 1:4-5. No longer are you looking for sustenance, now you are the one taking from out of your abundance to be a blessing. When you pray in the Spirit and you come in worship, that is how you can access all that has already been given to you.
Your union with Christ grants you access to the mind of Christ. You can think like Christ, you can proffer solutions to life’s problems like Jesus did, 1 Corinthians 2:13-16, 2 Corinthians 2:17. Your union with Christ will determine your fruitfulness, Colossians 2:6,9-10, John 15:4. Your vital union with Christ means you are being controlled by the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:9.
Beloved, spend time before God and His word to know what union with Christ affords you. When you gain understanding of these things, begin to activate them in your life and your results will unquestionably be like that of Jesus when He walked the earth.
