So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Beloved,
After you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, the first thing that God must do for you is to join you to the church He has apportioned for you. The truth is that church attendance is not a human idea and never designed to be a decision to be made by human mind. Unfortunately, many believers make this important decision by their human mind. If I may ask you, can you truly declare that you are sure that it is God that joined you to the church you are attending? Some attend their church because it is close to their home while some are attending their church because they like the music of the church. Some attend a church because the messages of the church suit their flesh while some attend a church to belong to the right social circle. These are the reasons why many churches are as weak as their members.
While God is the Father of the believer, the church is the mother. Just like the nourishment needed by the baby is programmed into the breast of the mother, God has programmed your nourishment into the church He has ordained for you.
Even though God knew that Paul would be a major apostle in the body of Christ, God still needed him to belong to a church. I have seen some believers that have stopped going to church because of their erroneous belief that since they are the temple of God, they should not go to any church again. This is nothing but the bait of the devil to subtly join them to idol.
Stop fighting church. Identify your God-ordained church and be established there. That is one major stream of your nourishment as a child of God. It is not just important you identify your church, join the church by participating in everything God is leading the under-shepherd to do.
