Romans 6:1-2 MSG
So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good?
Beloved,
We’ve been considering things people tend to hold on to regardless of God’s efforts to separate them from such things. However, there is hope in Christ for complete separation from things you are attached to, that are stagnating you in life and destiny. Let’s look at some steps to follow to break the evil cycle of going back to what God is delivering you from.
- Acknowledge and accept that you’re wrong and be broken in repentance. This is the first step and a very important one. Being broken in repentance is a stance that has become scarce in our days. A lot of believers do not genuinely repent, and this makes them susceptible to recurring attacks of the devil and before they know it, they are back in what they were delivered from. You cannot change until you repent with a broken heart. Do not be like Saul the King who clamed to repent but kept sinning.
- Face the reality of the fact that you will not always have another chance. While we always wish we have another chance, this is not always the case. Repent now before you exhaust the chances God gives you.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
