2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Beloved,
We said last time, that a Christian’s journey should always move forward and upward. Anything less than that, including stagnancy, calls for damage control as their destiny is in grave danger.
Lack of vision is one cause for delayed or stunted progress in life. Another is deceit. The book of Jeremiah says this:
Jeremiah 8:5 NKJV
Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.
Some people have chosen to make their bed in lies. They cannot progress because they’re deceiving themselves.
Jeremiah 9:6 NKJV
Your dwelling place is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me,” says the Lord.
If you don’t like the truth, you won’t be able to make much progress in life. How much tolerance do you have for lies? The more you tolerate lies, the more you will be lacking in right values.
Another reason people fail to progress in life is that they walk after the dictates of their sinful hearts.
Jeremiah 7:24 NKJV
Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.
Some have become gods unto themselves, because they believe that they know what is best for them. Beloved, only God knows what is best for any man. It is our wisdom to seek Him to know His plans and will for our lives. We will look at a few more causes of failed progress next time.
