Genesis 1:1-5 NKJV
[1] In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [2] The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. [3] Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. [4] And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. [5] God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Beloved,
One thing I want to tell you about light is that when you have light, you should use it to achieve a goal or a vision. It is good to celebrate the fact that you have light, but you should not settle and do nothing with it. You must work that light to get what God intends for you to have.
So, what or who is the light? John 1:1-5 let’s us know that Jesus is the Light.
John 1:9 NKJV
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
Jesus, the ultimate Light gives light other secondary sources of light including:
- People. The light of Jesus can connect you to some people who will make your life shine brighter.
- Information, knowledge, and understanding. A piece of information received at the right time can turn things around for the better Information brings knowledge and awareness. Understanding brings the wisdom needed to execute what the knowledge received demands.
- Revelation. This is most important. There is a dimension of light that can only come by direct communication of the Spirit. Once received, it brings about a revolution in all facets of life.
- Conviction. This is a dimension of light and certainty that comes by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
- Visions and dreams. Like He did for Joseph, God can communicate the future and matters of destiny to a believer dreams and visions. This is another means by which God shines light.
Next time, we will talk about what light brings.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
