Beloved,
Taking time to define the people in your life is not merely an exercise in semantics—it is an act of spiritual stewardship. So many of us drift through connections, failing to ask the fundamental question: “Who is this person to my journey? Who are they to my destiny?”
Many genuine and serious believers are traveling with “Jonah” and “Old Prophets” unaware. Check out the book of Jonah 1-4 to learn more on how he ran away from his assignment and how it negatively impacted everyone around him. Read 1 Kings 13:11-25.
See the story of the Young Prophet and how the old prophet deceived him. Not only was the Young Prophet distracted from his assignment, but his relations with that Old Prophet also led to his demise, eventually.
When it comes to calling, there are individuals who might be called by God quite well, but like Jonah they have decided to reject their place of assignment, and they are running away from their responsibilities or like the Old Prophet, they are just looking for what they can get from you.
Take your time to study individuals. Ask God who they are to your life and destiny. We can look at more examples next time. Until then, I commend you to God and the Word of His grace. I call you BLESSED and NATIONS.
‘Sola
