Isaiah 40:31 NLT
But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Beloved,
Like we said last time, chickens flock; eagles soar. It is easy to tell if a person is a chicken or an eagle. Chickens enjoy flocking in large numbers, they peck and eat anything on the ground, they lack prestige and glory, and compared to eagles, they have a short lifespan. Since it doesn’t take much energy to flock, most people do. But this means their identity is subsumed by that of the crowd they move with. They just assume that life is being lived seamlessly and they don’t expect more from life.
As a believer, aim to be an eagle. Eagles enjoys soaring. They are fewer in number but mighty. They are not afraid to be alone and in fact enjoy it. They carry a peculiar glory and have lasting relevance. It is in their nature to eat fresh meat, not leftovers. Eagles zone in on their preys and they usually capture them.
While the physical nature of a person plays some role in their life, more important is the training they have subjected themself to. To become an eagle, you have to be trained. If you feel like you are not soaring, it is not that it is not in your nature to soar. It is about what you’ve been exposed to, conditioned to live by, and the choices you keep making daily. As a believer, you have the grace to soar; exploit that grace. Like our opening scripture says, trust in the Lord and find strength in Him daily. Make correct choices habitually. Train yourself to exhibit eagle-like qualities in your daily life.
As you are learning to soar, do not leave people in your care behind. Who are you raising your children to become? Are they chicken-hearted, afraid of everything or eagle-hearted and can dare anything? Who is your spouse becoming under your watch? Are you shrinking or increasing spiritually and mentally? Do they zone in on a cause or a goal and commit to it till they achieve success? The Lord is helping us in Jesus name.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
