DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

James 4:2‭-‬3 NKJV

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Beloved,
In the kingdom, we ask, we don’t crave. Craving is not a kingdom word. People crave for things not because they are needed but because they are wanted. Desire is good until it becomes uncontrollable craving. I encourage you to examine your heart before God to uncover your motive for asking for certain things in the place of prayer. When you see that your heart is not right, then make it right before God sincerely.

Craving is a subtle demonic system of hindering a believer from laying up treasures in heaven. It is a demonic exchange designed to make a believer get involved in wastage. A man who spends his life craving will live to gather up worthless things.

People out there do things in their young age that will either bring comfort or torment to them when they become older. Live and plan your life in a way that when you become much older than you are at the moment, you are comforted, not tormented because you made wrong choices in the past.

Now, how do you become free from the bondage of craving. Consider 1 Corinthians 10:1-6. Below are some steps to take to deal with craving:

  • Separate your needs from your wants. Your motives will help you to make that separation. Craving is powered by lust and lust will eventually lead to sin.
  • Be disciplined to place right boundaries in place.
Be careful of associations that encourages you to fulfill that demonic cravings. Separate from mixed multitude, Nehemiah 13:3.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
