2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Beloved,
Last time, I exposed the tendency we often have to do and desire what seems good and feels right in the moment. When we yield to our flesh every time, it is our flesh that we are feeding and it is our flesh that is growing stronger. When our flesh is stronger than our spirit, we are too vulnerable. We become easy targets for the devil to take advantage of.
Beloved, you must arrest that spirit of craving, lest you become bound by it. Deal with it at once! One counsel I often give my members is that when your flesh is saying “Give me! Give me! Give me!” you must develop the habit of responding, “Cool down! Cool down! Cool down!”
Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
Let your soul find rest in God. Thank God often for His bountiful blessings and for the truth that He always keeps His promises and divinely supplies us with all that we need. Remind yourself how God has dealt bountifully with you in the past. This will help you to simmer down and kill craving.
You can also get involved in strategic giving. Become part of what God is doing. God gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 2 Corinthians 9:10.
Know that people who yield to intense craving will end up tormented and people who control and refuse to give in to craving will be comforted.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
